"In wildness is the preservation of the world."
—
Henry David Thoreau

The GO WILD program is a celebration of wild places and of their value to teenagers in the 21st century. Youth in our culture have never been more disconnected from Nature than today.
Up until now Nature has always provided insights about self, what was important in life and a connection to the spiritual. With lifestyles that are fast, focused on 'stuff' and indoors, youth have lost one of the most valuable sources of perspective and calm. Subsequently many teenagers suffer from 'nature deficit disorder'.
Reconnecting students to the wisdom, inspiration and leadership development opportunities that are served up by time spent in the non-human world is what Sea to Sky's GO WILD program is all about. It is here that the essential lesson of the 21st century, less is more, can be learned. This island experience is a provocative pitch to the power of LESS and its ability to transform our world.
The Greenstar! initiative with its Yes to Less is introduced providing students with significant, meaningful and achievable ways of standing up for Nature in their everyday lives.
