Grades: 9, 10, 11 & 12

Duration: 3-4 days

During this program students will:

  • Participate in workshops that help build effective leadership skills: communication, group dynamics, team building

  • Engage in dialogues and activities focused on the the challenges of the 21st Century related to social, economic, environmental justice

  • Paddle big canoes

  • Spend time connecting to wild nature

  • Play, run, swim, dance, sing

  • Sit alone in the forest

  • Get up close and personal with slimy things

  • Build community and try out their own personal leadership skills

  • Understand different perspectives on an issue, clarify problems, consider alternatives, and evaluate strategies and solutions

21st century leaders are Individuals committed to making the world a better place.


The challenges and opportunities of the 21st century demand a new and enlightened form of leadership which understands and acts on the imperative of sustainability and the wisdom of 'less is more'. The greatest attribute of a 21st century leader is resilience.  


This program blends Big Wild Adventures with facilitated activities and workshops that invite students to critically consider the role of leadership in society and to reflect upon their own personal leadership styles, whilst developing the skills and tools to be effective leaders.
