Registration and deposit
Registration will be confirmed when we receive this completed registration form and a deposit in the amount of $930 + 5%tax (first month's payment). Payment can be made by e-transfer or cheque.
Payment for the program can be made for the full amount, $9765 ($9300 + 5% tax) or in monthly instalments of $976 (930 + 5% tax), from September to June. Payment is due by the 15th of each month. Payments more than 7 days late will be subject to an 8% late fee.
Although payment is on a plan, no partial program dates or payments are permitted. The cancellation policy below applies to the full program cost of $9765 + tax.
Payments may be made by e-transfer, cash or check. We are unable to process credit card payments at this time.
Once the program has begun, there will be no refunds for cancelling or not attending the program.
If a student leaves and we are able to fill the spot, we can issue a refund (by cancelling future payments) for the remaining program amount, minus the deposit amount ($930) and fees up until the spot was filled.
Cancellation and Refunds Related to Covid-19:
We will operate in compliance with all Municipal, Provincial and Federal laws & orders.
If we need to cancel in-person sessions after the program start date due to Covid-19, we will offer refunds for all cancelled sessions, minus 20% that will help us cover administration and offer online distance programming for each program day.
For any families that need to cancel due to being adversely affected by Covid-19 (contracting the virus, job loss, caring for a sick family member), we may be able to issue a full refund for missed program time. This will be determined on a case by case basis.
For all other cancellations, our regular Cancellation and Refund policy applies.
Covid 19 Policies
We have adapted our programming to meet the guidelines described in the British Columbia Camping Association's Covid 19 Guide for Day Camps and British Columbia Center for Disease Control Covid 19 Public Health Guidance for K-12 School Settings. The practices outlined in these documents are based on recommendations and orders from WorkSafeBC, BC’s Provincial Health Officer, and other industry leaders. A copy of this document is available on the BCCA website and the BCCDC website.
We will adapt and adjust our Covid policies to respond to situations as they arise to adhere to the highest standards of health and safety. Parents will receive clear and prompt notice of any policy changes.
We will conduct daily participant wellness check-ins. As per provincial guidelines:
● All parents, caregivers, children and staff who have symptoms of COVID-19 OR travelled outside Canada in the last 14 days OR were identified by Public Health as a close contact of a confirmed case must stay home and self-isolate.
● Anyone with cold/flu or COVID-19 symptoms or other illness must stay home.
● Parents/guardians must check their children each day for symptoms. Our staff will ask parents/guardians to confirm this at drop off.
Late Pick Ups
We understand that life happens and that sometimes being late is unavoidable. If you are arriving late to program, please let us know as soon as you can.
Being late on a regular basis will not work for our programming. If this becomes an issue and we notice you are continuously late to pick up your child, we will ask to meet with you to work out a solution.
It is expected that children attend all sessions of the program. We understand that occasional absences will happen, but regular and consistent absences will not allow for the deeper learning and connection we are aiming for. If we notice consistent absences that are taking away from our program, we will cancel the enrolment of that child. We will only be able to give a partial refund if we are able to fill that spot.
However, if your child is sick, please don’t send them to the program. If your child will be absent please text Chael, Kaz or Robyn to let us know.
We will send you a detailed list of essential gear needed, as well as a detailed description of how to dress your child.
If your child is not dressed adequately and/or does not have adequate gear in their backpack, we have the right to let you know that they cannot stay at program, unless appropriate gear is brought to them. This is both for their own safety and for the safety and experience of the whole group.
Make Up Days
Due to the nature of our program, we are unable to do any make up days for classes missed. However, if you let us know about an unavoidable absence, we will do our best to inform you about what your child is missing and what they might be able to do on our own.
Consent , Disclosure and Assumption of Risk
I/we understand that Sea To Sky Outdoor School offers programs that involve activities which include, but are not limited to, on-trail hiking, movement over rough terrain, practicing wilderness skills, and play in remote areas. I/we appreciate that there are inherent risks involved, including the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss resulting therefrom. I/we acknowledge that the enjoyment of outdoor activities is derived, in part, from the inherent risks incurred by travel and activities beyond the accepted safety of home, work or school.
In entering into this agreement, I/we understand that while Sea To Sky Outdoor School will take reasonable steps to minimize risk, injury or death may occur without fault on the part of Sea to Sky Outdoor School, its officers, employees, guides/instructors, agents or representatives.
